I had the pleasure of interviewing Keke Wyatt about her upcoming album “Who Knew?” which is set to be released everywhere Feb 23rd. The Album will be available on iTunes and all retail stores. Check out our questions as well as question from Keke ‘s fans via Twitter.
RTV: Hey Keke, I just wanted to thank you again for doing this interview with us here at RottingTelevision.com
Keke: Aww thank you for having me.
RTV: What is this New Album Called?
Keke: This Album is called “Who Knew?”
RTV: Are there any features on this Album?
Keke: Not on this one because I felt like people focus too much on features and the album isn’t about features it’s about the artist. So I just kinda focus more about the Keke Wyatt Project. Most people focus more about who is on there. I hate when I buy an album and all I’m hearing is everybody else. I wanna hear you. I mean the change up is cool, but at the same time, if I wanted to hear them I would have gone and bought there album.
RTV: What’s your Favorite track on this album?
Keke: I have two. One is one that I wrote. Its called “Daydreaming”. And one that I did with the Thunder Dogs, Harvey Mason, its called ” Weakest” and that shows like a different side of Keke. More of a sexual/sexy of word. Usually everybody hears the belt it out, blow it out, but this one is more sexual and more lovely dovely.
RTV: Is there any artist and producers that would like to work in the future?
Keke: I would love to work with Joe. When I tell you I love Joe, there is not a day that I don’t listen to him. There’s D’angelo, I’d like to do something with him, and I would like to do something with Fantasia. She’s a sweetie. That’s a good friend of mine. It can’t be someone that can’t stay a float, don’t even try. All theses whoop d do singers out here girl no. NO NO NO…. As far as producers, I would have to say I really enjoy, Him and Bob. They did this song for Dave Hollister, I would also work with him. That song is fly as hell, I would love to do something with them.
RTV: I have some questions from your fans via Twitter.
Are you planning on going on tour soon?
Keke: Oh yea. I plan on going on tour immediately. As soon as I drop my album, I plan on working it to death. I have already plan something for Gay Pride, they have a couple of dates. It’s not really a tour tour, but its like a mini tour. That’s going to be Feb-May. Of course not everyone is gay but I still want to cater to all my fans, and they’re my fans too. I’m going to do that, and get to everybody.
RTV: Does music run in your family and if so, who sings or is musically inclined??
Keke: My mom and my dad. My mother, she sings and she’s so clever and so talented. Whatever she touches I swear it works. And my daddy, he plays the organ, and when I tell you, he plays a solo on the organ with nobody singing, nobody doing nothing that will make you cry. He plays beautifully. Now me and my brothers, we all play the organ, we all play the drums, we all sing, we all write. And now my kids are doing it. It’s just like generation after Generations, my grandmother sings, her mother sang, her mothers mother sang. We all do.
RTV: Sounds Great.
Keke: We’re all gifted. Its a straight gift from God. Its cause everyone is not blessed to wake up and get to do what we do. I don’t know why God choose to give it to me, but I’ll tell you, I’m going to use it to my best ability. I literally wake up and go to bed every night thanking God, for giving me what he gave me. He could have given it to anyone but he gave it to me and I think that’s what’s up. So I’m forever grateful.
RTV: Thanks so much for this interview with us.
Keke: Thank you, and make sure you buy my album. Feb 23rd.
