This past month at International Snow Sports Tradeshows, Pirelli Pzero and Burton gave the snowboard industry a sneak peek of their new collaboration for the Winter 2012-2013 season. The focal piece in the collaboration is the 2013 Burton Ion snowboard boot featuring a Pirelli outsole, which will be available worldwide next fall. In addition to the boot, Pirelli worked with Burton on an exclusive snowboard and binding, which will only be available next fall at the Pirelli Corso Venezia store in Milan, Italy.

The star of this joint effort is the 2013 Burton Ion boot. One of Burton’s most legendary boot models, the Ion only gets better in 2013 with the addition of an exclusive new outsole created in collaboration with Pirelli. Taking advantage of the company’s experience in tyre manufacturing, Pirelli has created an exclusive rubber compound for Burton built specifically around the demands of riding that includes a snow tyre-inspired tread designed for superior traction. The top-of-the-line Ion boot also features Burton’s ‘Total Comfort’ technology, so the boot is designed to be super comfortable and high-performing from day one out of the box.

In addition, Pirelli and Burton have created a very limited edition snowboard and binding that will only be sold in the Pirelli Corso Venezia in Milan beginning in the fall of 2012. Both the snowboard and binding feature Pirelli’s distinctive gold and black accents, which were inspired by the daredevil and glamorous world of 1970s motorsports.

From the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2012 Collection we present a nice new shoe. While looking rather simple and classic at first, the black leather lace-up comes with a metal heel piece on the mid-sole, resulting in an interesting accent and totally new look. Starting with a 7.0L Corvette LS7 V-8, Lingenfelter adds forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, tricked-out heads, a custom intake manifold, and a Magnusson/Eaton TVS2300 supercharged to create the 750-hp monster at the heart of the Lingenfelter Camaro. Hotchkis takes over in the handling department and outfits the car with new springs, adjustable sway bars, a subframe brace, and Brembo brakesto keep all those ponies under control.

The Rocksmith team headed down to New Orleans for a spring 2012 lookbook video, shot by Lazlo and featuring the team of premiere skate boutique Madsoulz. Their chant of “Swag Gumbo” was exactly what we were thinking, so we scored the video to Clams Casino. This is sick!!

The Land Rover Defender may be nearing the end of its line, but over the course of its lifetime it has become the go-to vehicle for any number of off-road applications. They’re used on safaris and expeditions, by military forces and humanitarian organizations. And yes, they’re used by hunters. That’s why German firearms manufacturer Blaser has outfitted this special edition Defender for just such a market.

The Blaser edition Defender includes roof rack, underbody skid plates, trailer hitch, power winch, spotlight, snorkel intake, custom-embroidered leather seats and more. It’s decked out in what’s called Keswich Green, but to us looks more like Panzer green, and packs a 2.2-liter turbodiesel four with 122 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque on tap. But the party piece is the custom armory built into the back that can carry as many as five hunting rifles plus ammunition. Only 60 examples will be made available exclusively in Germany, each carrying a €49,500 ($64,400) price tag.

Taking a break from my beloved Kiehl’s products, I decided to take the more organic route and try Organic Male OM4. WOW, another amazing timepiece from Montblanc!

The Montblanc TimeWalker II TwinFly Chronograph GreyTech features the impressive in-house movement, calibre MB LL100. Like the first calibre-family, which is used in the magnificent Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph, it has a double mainspring barrel offering a power reserve of 72 hours and a twin flyback chronograph that is controlled through a column wheel and vertical clutch!

Each opener is manually machined from cold formed steel and hand stamped with the production number. Finish is a dark gun blue with a light coat of wax to prevent rusting. The strap is sewn tanned leather. It has a solid weighty feel yet small enough to carry around.

This Deus Bald Terrior 1200 Motorcycle  is sick!

When we rolled our original V Twin Cafe Racer out of the workshop, it was met with fond comments. It wasn’t long before Cliff Hardy look-a-like Glenn commissioned Deus chief tech Jeremy to modify an existing concept. By the way Cliff Hardy is a fictional detective dreamt up by Australian author Peter Corris. Check out the series sometime.
Anyway, Glenn was quite clear with the brief. A little more performance and a lot more brakes. The donor is a 2007 injected Harley Sportster 1200. The puppy was stripped back and a hefty parts list was written up, it included a custom 19 and 18 inch wheel sets, brake calliper and rotors. Tingate was called to supply the one off inch clip on bars. Storz rear sets were modified to suit as was the Vance & Hines performance exhaust. Other components include, PM Super gas air filter, custom length Ikon rear dampers, and Daytona electric speedo.
It was decided to attempt black hard chroming of the fork sliders and we’re glad we did. The front end is a stunner. A heavily modified SR400 tank hides the stock fuel pump and the vessel is held down via a bespoke alloy strap. Fabrication of the sub frame with a one off rear guard and seat unit achieve a custom cafe feel. The ride has the benefit of a Power Commander 5 unit and was fettled on the dyno for its final tune.

Finally a ‘normal’ looking RiRi….look out for this Ad campaign to drop very soon!
