ARTIST TO WATCH | Chiddy Bang

After listening to Chiddy Bang’s track which featured samples from MGMT…i was hooked. Chiddy Bang is made up of two guys, Chiddy (MC) and Xaphoon Jones (Producer) who meet up in Drexel University, in Philadelphia, PA. Their sound is based on the fusion of hip hop and unique sample choices from alternative and Electronica artists such as Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Passion Pit, and MGMT. They First because big off there mixtape entitled “The Swelly Express.” After the huge buzz from the mixtape they were later signed to EMI.

The second mixtape realeased since being signed is called “AIR SWELL” which can be downloaded at the bottom. The mixtape contains remixes and samples from some of their favorite UK artists such as Gorillaz, Ellie Goulding, La Roux, Kate Nash, Hot Chip and Tinie Tempah. A studio album is slated for August 24, 2010 Called Swelly Life.
